NEWS:  Indian Army Launches Project Naman: Sparsh-Centric Common Service Centres Established Across India

 

WHAT’S IN THE NEWS ?

Project NAMAN

  • Objective: Provide dedicated support and services to Defence Pensioners, Veterans, and their families.
  • Core System: Centers around SPARSH (System for Pension Administration Raksha), a digital pension system aimed at streamlining pension processes.
  • Partnership: Involves a tripartite MoU between:
  • Indian Army’s Directorate of Indian Army Veterans
  • Common Service Centre (CSC) e-Governance India Limited
  • HDFC Bank Limited
  • Phase One Expansion: 14 CSCs established in key locations such as New Delhi, Jalandhar, Leh, Dehradun, Lucknow, Jodhpur, and others.
  • Future Plans: Expansion to approximately 200 centres nationwide within the next 2-3 years.
  • Impact and Benefits:
  • Enhances welfare for veterans and their families.
  • Provides access to commonly required e-Governance services.
  • Creates entrepreneurial opportunities for Veterans and Next of Kin (NOK), empowering them to contribute to their communities.
