Current relevance:

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has highlighted PAIMANA, a web-based platform for monitoring Central Sector infrastructure projects, along with its expanded Performance Monitoring Dashboard and the newly launched PAIMANA-CRIP module.


Highlights:

About PAIMANA:

          i.            PAIMANA stands for Project Assessment, Infrastructure Monitoring and Analytics for Nation-Building.

        ii.            Launched on 25 September 2025 by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI).

      iii.            It is a web-based infrastructure monitoring platform.

      iv.            It replaced the earlier Online Computerized Monitoring System (OCMS-2006).

        v.            It monitors ongoing Central Sector infrastructure projects costing ₹150 crore or more.

      vi.            More than 60% of projects on PAIMANA are updated automatically through API-based integration with Ministries/Departments.


PAIMANA-CRIP & Performance Monitoring Dashboard:

          i.            PAIMANA-CRIP was launched on 8 July 2026, replacing DPIIT’s Integrated Project Monitoring Portal (IPMP).

        ii.            It is envisioned to evolve into a Central Repository of Infrastructure Projects.

      iii.            Project data required for PRAGATI, PMG and other review mechanisms would subsequently be sourced and updated through it.

      iv.            The Performance Monitoring Dashboard, launched on 16 April 2026, covers six infrastructure sub-sectors: Power, Civil Aviation, Telecommunications, Railways, Roads, and Ports, Shipping & Waterways.

Key Features:

          i.            Provides a single digital interface for cross-sector infrastructure monitoring.

        ii.            Moves beyond output/production measurement towards multi-dimensional performance assessment.

      iii.            Evaluates infrastructure across access, quality, fiscal cost & revenue, utilisation and affordability.

      iv.            Tracks year-on-year, month-on-month and cumulative growth, along with targets and capacity utilisation.

        v.            Enables Ministries and Departments to access tailored dashboards and receive data-driven updates on project execution.

      vi.            Supports evidence-based monitoring and policymaking through periodic official data updates.


Significance:

                    i.            The PAIMANA portal integrates the Central Repository of Infrastructure Projects, reports on Central Sector projects costing ₹150 crore and above, and the Performance Monitoring Dashboard. Through regular data updates and analytics, it strengthens transparency, efficiency and accountability, supports evidence-based policymaking and informed decision-making, and promotes sustainable and inclusive infrastructure development across India.
