Highlights:
1. The
initiative opens a new international market for local beekeepers and
strengthens Tripura’s emerging agri-export ecosystem.

Apiary boxes can be placed in
mustard fields to enhance production, demonstrating the link between
mustard cultivation and apiculture/pollination.
iii.
Major producing states include Uttar Pradesh
(17.11%), West Bengal (16.20%), Punjab (14.08%), Bihar (12.33%) and
Rajasthan (9.15%).

Such interventions can create sustainable
market opportunities for farmers while expanding the global footprint of
India’s diverse agricultural products.

Significance for Tripura & the North Eastern
Region:
i.
Strengthens Tripura’s emerging agri-export
ecosystem, particularly its honey and beekeeping sector.
ii.
Promotes diversification of Tripura’s honey
value chain.
iii.
Demonstrates the potential of FPO-led
aggregation and industry collaboration in connecting small producers with
global markets.
