The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) organised West Bengal’s first-ever Kaushal Mahotsav at Balurghat, Dakshin Dinajpur, in collaboration with the Government of West Bengal and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

About Kaushal Mahotsav:

Flagship Initiative: Kaushal Mahotsav is a flagship initiative of the
Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
2.
Employment Platform: It seeks to connect young people with employment and
career opportunities.
3.
Industry Participation: It provides a platform where job seekers interact
directly with employers from multiple sectors.
4.
Skill–Employment Linkage: The initiative seeks to translate skills into gainful
employment and career opportunities for youth.
Key Outcomes of Balurghat
Kaushal Mahotsav:
1.
First in West Bengal: It marked West Bengal's first-ever Kaushal Mahotsav,
organised at Balurghat.
2.
Large Participation: More than 7,500 interviews were conducted
during the event.
3.
Candidate Shortlisting: Over 4,500 candidates were shortlisted.
4.
Employment Opportunities: More than 7,000 job opportunities were
provided by 50+ employers.
5.
Opportunities were available across manufacturing, retail, logistics,
healthcare, hospitality, food processing, banking and financial services,
and other services.

Interface: Create a
platform connecting skilled youth with employers across different sectors.
