The Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) and Première Vision SA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 2 September 2026 at the Première Vision exhibition in Paris to establish a multi-year institutional partnership for strengthening India’s engagement with the global fashion and textile ecosystem.

Highlights:

1.        The Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) and Première Vision SA signed an MoU to establish a multi-year institutional partnership covering trade, sourcing, design, sustainability and heritage, with its implementation to be overseen by a Joint Steering Committee.

2.      Global Market Integration:

The partnership will connect Indian textile manufacturers, exporters, designers and artisans with international buyers, global fashion houses and premium sourcing networks, thereby expanding their presence in global markets.

3.      Market Intelligence & Sustainable Sourcing:

Access to Première Vision’s global market and trend intelligence will help Indian enterprises better understand international fashion trends and explore opportunities in sustainable and high-quality sourcing.

4.      Shift towards High-Value Exports:

The partnership aims to facilitate India’s transition from volume-driven textile exports to high-value, design-led and premium fashion segments, strengthening the global positioning of Indian textiles.

5.      Export Promotion & Market Linkages:

The partnership provides for joint export-promotion initiatives, buyer-seller meets, reverse buyer-seller meets and exchange of market intelligence to improve market access.

6.      Delegation & Knowledge Exchange:

It encourages reciprocal participation of exhibitors, delegations, speakers and experts across the respective trade shows.

7.      Benefits for MSMEs and Traditional Producers:

Greater global exposure can create opportunities for artisans, weavers, designers, women entrepreneurs and MSMEs involved across India's textile ecosystem.

8.      Sustainability:

Both organisations will promote circularity, traceability and responsible production, along with sustainability initiatives at their respective events.

9.      Heritage & Craftsmanship:

·         An “Eternal Crafts Collaboration” will showcase Indian and French textile heritage to the international luxury and creative fashion community.

·         It includes “A Living Thread”, planned for January 2027, showcasing Indian hand embroidery, handloom and allied heritage techniques alongside French textile heritage.

10.   Broader Strategic Significance:

·         The partnership combines India's manufacturing capabilities, diverse textile ecosystem and craft traditions with Première Vision's international fashion and premium sourcing network.

·         It can therefore strengthen India's position as a sustainable, innovative and high-value sourcing destination, while deepening textile and fashion collaboration between Indian and French stakeholders.
