Affairs & Sports has invited online nominations for the Tenzing
Norgay National Adventure Award (TNNAA) 2025. Nominations are open from 21
July to 20 August 2026 through the National Awards Portal.
Highlights:
1.
Tenzing
Norgay National Adventure Award (TNNAA) is India's highest national award for excellence in adventure
activities.
2.
Objective: Recognises exceptional achievements in adventure
while promoting endurance, courage, teamwork, leadership, and adventure
sports among youth.
3.
Award is
presented in four categories:
i.
Land Adventure
ii.
Water (Sea)
Adventure
iii.
Air Adventure
iv.
Lifetime
Achievement
4.
Awardees
receive: bronze statuette, Certificate, Blazer with silken tie (or saree), Cash
award of ₹15 lakh.
5.
This award
enjoys a status equivalent to the Arjuna Award and is presented by the Government
of India along with the National Sports Awards.
6.
Eligibility:
i.
Indian
citizens with outstanding
achievements in adventure activities are eligible to apply, achievements of the
last three calendar years are considered during the selection process.
7.
Recommendation:
i.
Applicants may
obtain recommendations from State Youth/Sports Departments or Recognised
adventure institutions.
ii.
Recommendations
are mandatory for serving personnel of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
