Ministry of Commerce and Industry has selected 24 companies under the third
round of the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for White Goods, focusing
on boosting domestic manufacturing of large home appliances like refrigerators
and washing machines. White goods, named for their original white enamel
finish, are major household appliances, while brown goods refer to lightweight
electronics like TVs and radios.
2. INS Mumbai is participating in the fourth edition of
the Multinational Exercise LA PEROUSE, involving nine countries, to enhance
maritime safety, interoperability, and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific's
strategic straits. This aligns with India’s SAGAR vision for a secure and
inclusive regional maritime order.

Union Government partially lifted the sugar export ban, allowing 1 million
tonnes for the 2024-25 season to stabilize domestic prices, ensure farmer
payments, and improve liquidity for sugar mills, benefiting 5 crore farmer
families and 5 lakh workers.
