1.Moldova,
a landlocked country in Eastern Europe, shares borders with Ukraine and
Romania, with its capital in Chisinau. It gained independence from the Soviet
Union in 1991 and established diplomatic ties with India in 1992, signing
agreements on visa waivers and enhanced collaboration.
2. The West Bengal Chief
Minister launched the "Banglar Bari" scheme to provide housing for
rural poor families, offering ₹1.20 lakh for house construction, with an
additional ₹10,000 for beneficiaries in Jangalmahal and Darjeeling hills. The scheme
is fully funded by the state government.
3. A parliamentary panel report has recommended doubling
the annual financial assistance under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) from
Rs 6,000 to Rs 12,000, and also a legal guaran- tee of Minimum Support Price
(MSP) to farmers.
4. The Constitution (129th Amendment) Bill was introduced
in the House by Law Minister after a 90-minute debate, followed by a division
of votes as Opposition members insisted on it.
