1. Marburg Virus Disease (MVD), caused by the Marburg virus, is a zoonotic
RNA virus first identified in 1967, with African fruit bats as its natural
reservoir. It spreads via zoonotic and human-to-human transmission through
bodily fluids, with no specific treatment or approved vaccine available.
Prevention focuses on PPE use, hygiene, and avoiding contact with infected
individuals.

2. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is visiting
Russia for the commissioning of the Tushil, a stealth guided missile frigate,
marking a key moment in India-Russia defence ties. Tushil is the first of two
frigates built under the P1135.6 class, incorporating advanced stealth
technology. The visit coincides with the 21st India-Russia Inter-Governmental
Commission on Military and Military-Technical Cooperation (IRIGC-MTC),
enhancing bilateral military cooperation. The IRIGC-MTC, established in 2000,
focuses on joint ventures, technical upgrades, and R&D in defence.

3. India was part of a core group that led the adoption of the World
Meditation Day resolution at the UNGA, marking December 21 to raise awareness
of meditation's benefits. The date coincides with the Winter Solstice and the
start of ‘Uttarayana’ in Indian tradition. The day aims to promote mental,
emotional, and physical well-being through meditation for global peace. The
UNGA, established in 1945, is the main decision-making body of the United
Nations, comprising 193 member states
