1. UNESCO World Heritage Committee: Soon to meet in Delhi

It is a committee of the United Nations
Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization.

The Committee is responsible for the
implementation of the World Heritage Convention, defines the use of the World
Heritage Fund, and allocates financial assistance upon requests from States
Parties.

·        
It has the final say on whether a property is
inscribed on the World Heritage List.


2. ICAR: 96th Foundation Day

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research
(ICAR) was established on 16 July 1929 as a registered society under the
Societies Registration Act, 1860.

It is an autonomous organisation under the
Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of
Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India.

It is the
apex body for coordinating, guiding and managing research and education in
agriculture including horticulture, fisheries and animal sciences in the entire
country.
