WHAT’S IN THE NEWS ?

RHUMI-1 stands out for its innovative hybrid propulsion system, combining the advantages of both liquid and solid fuels.

RHUMI-1 (India's First Reusable Hybrid Rocket)

Developed By: Space Zone India (Tamil Nadu-based startup) in collaboration with Martin Group.

Purpose: Research on global warming and climate change.

Launch Site: Thiruvidandhai, Chennai.

Cube Satellites:

·         Monitors atmospheric conditions (cosmic radiation, UV radiation, air quality).

·         Deployed 50 Pico satellites for data on accelerometer readings, altitude, and ozone levels.

Rocket Features:

·         Hybrid Engine: Combines solid and liquid propellants for efficiency and cost reduction.

·         Adjustable Launch Angle: 0 to 120 degrees for detailed guiding.

·         Parachute System: Electrically triggered, eco-friendly for safe recovery.

Environment-Friendly: Pyrotechnic-free, 0% TNT.

Reusable: Capable of releasing payloads, returning to Earth, and relaunching with new payloads.
