NEWS: Retired Sportsperson Empowerment Training (RESET) Programme

 

WHAT’S IN THE NEWS?

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports launched the RESET Programme to support retired athletes (aged 20-50) by offering 16 specialized courses, skill enhancement, and internships. The program addresses the human resource gap in the sports sector and provides sustainable career opportunities.

RESET Programme

Ministry: Launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

Aim: Supports career development for retired athletes through education, skill enhancement, and internships.

Eligibility:

  • Retired athletes aged 20-50 years.
  • Winners or participants in international, national, or state-level sports events recognized by sports federations or the Ministry.

Features:

  • 16 specialized courses, including Strength & Conditioning Trainer, Sports Nutritionist, Yoga Trainer, and Sports Entrepreneurship.
  • Combines academic learning with practical internships for hands-on experience.

Objective: Addresses the human resource gap in the sports sector and ensures sustainable career opportunities for retired athletes.
