       It is a proud moment for all of us that Kaladi of Udhampur district of J&K got the prestigious Geographical Indication (GI) tag.

       It will help to increase the income and employment among the families associated with Kaladi.

       GI will also help to export the Kaladi from Udhampur and the future of many families especially the rural youths of the area can be secured.

 

Kaladi:

       Kaladi is a dense ripened milk product that is usually sautéed in its own fat.

       In general, Kaladi is made from buffalo or cow milk, but in cottages, women use goat or sheep milk to meet the needs and preferences of the family in the absence of buffalo or cow milk.
