News: ChatGPT coming to Android users next week

What's in the news?

Ever since its launch, OpenAI’s ChatGPT has been making headlines for its astounding use cases.

Key takeaways:

While it was launched in November 2022, the mobile version of the AI-powered chatbot only came in May this year with a dedicated iOS app.

ChatGPT:

ChatGPT is a chatbot powered by artificial intelligence that can be used to ask queries.

This chatbot is designed in such a way that the replies to the queries are both technical and jargon-free.

It is a natural language processing (NLP) model that works using a large corpus of conversational data.

It is capable of generating human-like replies, allowing natural conversation between the user and the virtual assistant.

The chatbot makes use of Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) technology. However, it is modified to appear more friendly to humans.

It is based on GPT-3.5 - a deep-learning language model that produces human-like text.

GPT stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3.

The technology produces different answers for the same question in the future since it improves over time and understands queries better through machine learning.

Application:

It will answer queries just like a human would.

It can answer follow-up questions and can also admit its mistakes, challenge incorrect premises, and reject inappropriate requests.

It is being seen as a replacement for the basic emails, party planning lists, CVs, and even college essays and homework.

It can also be used to write code, solve math equations, and even spot errors in code.

It can write fiction but not at the level of a humans.

Limitations:

It may generate incorrect information, and create “biased” situations such as racial and sexist biases.

Its knowledge of the world and events after 2021 is limited.

The chatbot gives answers which are grammatically correct and read well - though some have pointed out that these lack context and substance, which is largely true.

Go back to basics:

OpenAI:
