NEWS:  Indian military export to Israel aiding genocide

 

WHAT’S IN THE NEWS?

Genocide Convention (1948):

 

·         India, as a signatory, is obligated to prevent and punish genocide, including refraining from arms exports that may aid in such acts.

 

Indian Constitution:

 

·         Article 21 ensures the right to life and personal liberty, extending protections to foreigners, which could be affected by military exports.

 

International Court of Justice (ICJ) Precedents:

 

·         The ICJ has warned against arms exports to conflict zones, where such exports may be linked to war crimes or genocide.

 

India’s Arms Exports to Israel:
