1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi
launched the expanded Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB
PM-JAY) to provide health coverage to all senior citizens aged 70 years and
above, irrespective of their income - a decision which is expected to benefit
about 6 crore people from 4.5 crore families. 

2. Recently, China Reported
third-quarter GDP growth of 4.6 per cent year-on-year. Some Indian media
outlets ran the headline "China's economy in free fall," while others
questioned whether China could achieve its annual growth target of 5 per
cent. 

3. Union Home Minister Amit
Shah launched a mobile application for the registration of births and
deaths. The Civil Registration System (CRS) mobile app, prepared by the
Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India, is expected to
significantly reduce the time required for the registration of births and
deaths. 

4. The Reserve Bank of India
(RBI) has been on a gold-buying spree, accumulating 32.63 tonnes of gold in the
first half (April-September period) of FY25, taking its total gold reserves to
854.73 tonnes. 











5. The Standard Veterinary
Treatment Guidelines (SVTG), released recently by the Union Ministry of Animal
Husbandry, aims to reduce and regulate the use of antibiotics to treat diseases
found among livestock and poultry.
