1. Planet-warming greenhouse gas (GHG) levels surged to a new record in
2023, with annual mean levels of carbon dioxide (CO2), the most important GHG
in the atmosphere, rising by 2.3 parts per million (PPM) between 2022 and 2023,
the World Meteorological Organization said.
2. The Supreme Court held that Aadhaar cannot be used as
proof of age, especially when other official documents that have been
recognised as valid proof, such as a School Leaving Certificate, are available.
According to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which issues
Aadhaar, the unique number is intended to provide a "universal identity
infrastructure".
3. The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C),
which functions under the Union Home Ministry, has issued an alert against an
illegal payment gateway created using mule bank accounts by transnational
organised cyber criminals facilitating money laundering as a service.
