1. Israel's Parliament passed
two Bills to ban the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine
Refugees (UNRWA) from operating in Israel and the Palestinian
territories.
2. The UNRWA was established in
1949 to provide aid to about 700,000 Palestinians who were forced to leave
their homes during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. UNRWA began operations on May 1,
1950. It operates in Gaza and the Israeli-occupied West Bank, as well as in
Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan where Palestinian refugees took shelter after their
expulsion.
3. Capital expenditure States,
a key driver of India's economic growth in recent times, may have started on
the backfoot in 2024-25 with the general elections taking up the first quarter,
and States' capex dropping 7% from last year by August, but those spends may
pick up steam in the coming months, rating agencies reckon.
4.BRIC-National
Agri-Food Biomanufacturing Institute (NABI)

launched the CRS mobile app to improve governance.

Speed Up Registration: The app
will make it faster to register births and deaths.

Digital Requirement: All births
and deaths from October 1, 2023, must be registered online.

Certificate Benefits: Digital
birth certificates will be used for school admissions, jobs, and marriage, and
will help update important records.
