1. The Annual Survey of Industries
(ASI) for 2022-23, released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme
Implementation (MOSPI), showed that the total number of employees in
manufacturing industries increased by 7.5 per cent to 1.84 crore in 2022-23
from 1.72 crore in 2021-22.

2. There
is growing evidence to support the belief that the unusual occurrences of
extreme air pollution are linked to climate change. In a warming world, other
than local anthropogenic emissions, rapidly changing climate is an additional
uncertainty that requires more rigorous mitigation efforts.

3. The 'Disturbed
Area' status under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act will continue to remain
in place in all of Manipur except the area under 19 police stations in the
state's valley district, with the state government citing "violent
activities of various extremist/insurgent groups".

4. NASA
cancelled its Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover (VIPER) mission
to the moon after the development was beset by delays and costs had ballooned.
By this time its engineers had fully assembled it and completed some tests, but
NASA held its ground. The sudden decision dismayed scientists.

5.The Dadasaheb Phalke Award:

Chakraborty to get Dadasaheb Phalke Award

The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India’s
highest recognition in the field of cinema.

It was instituted in 1969 by the
Government of India.

·        
Named after Dadasaheb Phalke, the father
of Indian cinema, who directed Raja Harishchandra, the first full-length
Indian feature film in 1913.

6. CRUISE  BHARAT MISSION :

The
Union Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal
Launches ‘Cruise Bharat Mission,’ to Double Cruise Calls and Passengers within
Five years

Mission aims at creation of 4 lakh jobs in
the revamped Cruise Sector in India.

·        
Cruise circuits to be designed to
celebrate and promote globally the cultural, historical and natural heritage of
Bharat.

·        
Mission to be implemented in Three Phases
& cover three key segments - Ocean & Harbour cruise, River & Island
cruise, Island cruise.































·        
Cruise Bharat Mission will also result in
over 1.5 million river cruise passengers over more than 5,000 Kms of
Operational Waterways in India.
