Army Launches Project Naman: Sparsh-Centric Common Service Centres Established

WHAT’S
IN THE NEWS ?

NAMAN
 - Objective: Provide dedicated support and services
     to Defence Pensioners, Veterans, and their families.
 
 - Core
     System:
     Centers around SPARSH (System for Pension Administration Raksha), a
     digital pension system aimed at streamlining pension processes.
 
 - Partnership: Involves a tripartite MoU between:
 
 
  - Indian
      Army’s Directorate of Indian Army Veterans
 
  - Common
      Service Centre (CSC) e-Governance India Limited
 
  - HDFC
      Bank Limited
 
 
 - Phase
     One Expansion: 14
     CSCs established in key locations such as New Delhi, Jalandhar, Leh,
     Dehradun, Lucknow, Jodhpur, and others.
 
 - Future
     Plans:
     Expansion to approximately 200 centres nationwide within the next 2-3
     years.
 
 - Impact
     and Benefits:
 
 
  - Enhances welfare for veterans and their families.
 
  - Provides access to commonly required e-Governance services.
 
  - Creates entrepreneurial opportunities for Veterans and Next of
      Kin (NOK), empowering them to contribute to their communities.
