under 'Operation Nanhe Farishtey' in last seven years
Whats in the News?
 - 'Operation
     Nanhe Faristey' is an initiative by the Railway Protection Force (RPF)
     aimed at rescuing children in need of care and protection across various
     Indian Railway Zones.
 
 - Over
     the last seven years (2018-May 2024), the RPF has rescued 84,119 children.
 
Impact and Awareness:
 - The
     RPF has not only rescued children but also raised awareness about the
     plight of runaway and missing children.
 
 - The
     operation has adapted to new challenges and strives to create a safer
     environment for children across India's railway network.
 
Support Systems:
 - Track
     Child Portal provides comprehensive details about aggrieved children.
 
 - Indian
     Railways has established child helpdesks at over 135 railway stations.
 
 - Rescued
     children are handed over to the District Child Welfare Committee and then
     to their parents.
