National Internet Exchange of India
(NIXI) will observe its 23rd Foundation Day on 19 June 2026, it strengthening
India's internet infrastructure and promoting digital transformation.
Highlights
1.
The National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) is a not-for-profit
organization functioning under the Ministry of Electronics and
Information Technology (MeitY).
2.
Objective - It is to promote internet penetration and
strengthen the internet ecosystem within India and beyond.
3.
NIXI facilitates the exchange of domestic
internet traffic among Internet Service Providers (ISPs), content
providers, and other entities possessing Autonomous System (AS).
4.
Improves internet efficiency and reducing dependence on
international bandwidth.
