The Government highlighted the progress of the IndiaAI
Mission, including the identification of 762 AI use cases across 62
Ministries, approval of 58 AI Centres of Excellence, establishment
of 543 Data & AI Labs, and initiatives to promote responsible AI for
governance and public service delivery.

through indigenous governance frameworks and evaluation tools suited to India's
socio-economic and cultural needs.

To provide financial support to AI startups
throughout their lifecycle, from prototype development to commercialization.

Impact Summit:
India
hosted the India-AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, to actively engage with the
India AI Impact Expo and identify AI applications relevant to their respective
domains to accelerate AI adoption across the Government.
1.
The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
provides the framework for lawful processing and protection of personal data.
2. Responsible AI Projects: Projects focus on AI bias mitigation, explainable
AI, algorithm auditing, privacy-preserving AI and deepfake detection.
3. AI Governance Framework:
India has established institutional mechanisms
including AI Governance and Economic Group (AIGEG), Technology and Policy
Expert Committee (TPEC), AI Safety Institute (AISI).
4.
Cyber
Security:
Indian
Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued AI security advisories and launched AI security
capacity-building initiatives.
