Current relevance:
The Ministry
of Panchayati Raj launched DAANVEER,
a citizen participation initiative to strengthen the digital infrastructure of Gram Panchayats by enabling voluntary
contributions of computers through the Meri
Panchayat App.
Highlights:
1.
DAANVEER
is a technology-enabled,
transparent and verifiable platform that enables citizens and organisations
to contribute towards the digital infrastructure needs of Gram Panchayats.
2.
It is an initiative of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR), developed
in collaboration with the National
Informatics Centre (NIC) and
DigiHaat.
3.
Objective:
i.
Aims to bridge the computer and digital
infrastructure gap in Gram Panchayats
across the country.
ii.
It establishes a long-term, citizen-driven
mechanism to strengthen local institutions through voluntary public
contributions.
iii.
To enhance service delivery,
transparency, and grassroots governance by
strengthening digital infrastructure at the Panchayat level.
4.
Key
features:
i.
Citizens and organizations can donate standardized,
quality-verified computer bundles to eligible Gram Panchayats through the Meri Panchayat mobile application,
which is integrated with the Digital
marketplace.
ii.
Donors can select pre-approved computer
bundles based on State-specific
technical specifications, with delivery details generated automatically.
iii.
The platform ensures complete
transparency through end-to-end digital
tracking from dispatch to installation and provides a digital certificate
of appreciation to every donor.
iv.
Carrying the tagline “Give Back to Your Village,” DAANVEER promotes voluntary public participation in strengthening digital
infrastructure at the grassroots.
v.
It provides a credible platform for
citizens, including the Indian diaspora,
to reconnect with and contribute to the
development of their native villages.
5.
Integration
with Digital Governance Ecosystem:
DAANVEER
builds upon the Ministry's digital governance ecosystem, including e-GramSwaraj, Meri Panchayat, Sabha Saar, Audit
Online, Gram Manchitra, Other digital governance platforms.
