News: DRDO successfully flight-tests New Generation Ballistic Missile Agni Prime

What is in the news?

●       Recently, The Defence Research and Development Organization successfully test-fired its New Generation Ballistic Missile Agni Prime. The successful test flight of the missile has opened its gates of entry into the Armed forces.

About Agni prime missile:

●       It is a ballistic missile system.

●       Developed by Defence Research Development Organization.

●       It is a Surface to Surface missile system with a range of 1000- 2000 km.

●       It is a two-stage solid propellant missile.

●       Agni prime was developed under the Integrated Guided Missile Development Program.

●       It is the sixth missile in the Agni (missile) series of ballistic missiles.

●       These are nuclear capable ballistic missile systems.

●       It is a part of the Integrated Guided Missile Development Program.

●       It was launched in 1989.
